Melbourne’s Skin Cancer Pricing & Skin Biopsy Cost | Mole Check Clinic
Pricing & Rebate Information

On this page, you will find the detailed descriptions and pricing of our services.

Out-of-pocket cost means the cost to you after the Medicare rebate has been applied. The total cost that you pay upfront may vary due to the length of a consultation. However, no matter what the total cost will be, your Medicare rebate will always make up the difference to make your out-of-pocket cost the same, as seen below. Please note that the Medicare rebate in most cases is processed on the spot, with the funds being available to you immediately. In certain situations, and especially for procedures, it may take 2 to 3 days for the funds to be cleared by Medicare into your account. If you do not hold a valid Medicare card, the full fee is payable. Please check with your insurance regarding the rebate. In most cases, insurance companies reimburse the exact amount equal to the relevant Medicare item number. Some private insurance companies also cover the out-of-pocket expense. We cannot advise whether your insurance company will do so.

Full Body Skin Cancer Check and Mole Mapping

Full body mole mapping is performed during your appointment, before or after the doctor performs the full body skin cancer check.

Mole mapping involves a series of 30 photographs covering the entire surface area of skin. The photographs are stored in our software database for cross referencing with new and changing spots appearing on your skin in the future. Mole mapping is a tool that gives the doctors a point of reference for the identification and diagnosis of skin cancer.

The Question is, What is the Cost of NOT Booking a Skin Cancer Test?

In a nation such as Australia where two in three people are likely to find themselves with a skin cancer at least once in their lives, it defies belief that people still need to ask ‘how much does a skin cancer screening cost?’ before committing to an appointment that could potentially save their lives. Financially, the skin cancer test cost may require you to hold off on buying an expensive shirt or a pair of shoes for a week or two; however, the cost of not getting a skin malignancy check or leaving it too late can be far greater. Next time you ask yourself the question ‘how much does a skin check cost?, make sure you consider not just the cost to your budget, but the cost to your health as well.
